Friends

This may sound stupid but I created an account to organize my campaign and some of my players have joined my campaign. Only problem is I can't tell how to add them as friends. I click on my friends link and there is no button or form there to add them (as would be the logical place). I have gone to their profile to see if there was a "add to friends" button but no. Please advise how to add someone as a friend.

This is a good question since "friends" could use some explanation:

This first step to becoming friends with another user on Epic Words is to "become a fan" or "follow". These both mean the same thing: You become a "fan" of that person and see all their public activity on your friends page.

When you start following someone, they get an email notification encouraging them to return the favor. If/when they start to follow you, your relationship is upgraded to "friend". As a friend, you get to see public and friend-level activity.

As of this post, the only activity that can be friend-level is posting to a campaign/character journal. However, we have plans to add this level of permissions to more areas of the site.

There are links on other users' profile pages that say "Become a fan!". There is also a "Follow everyone in this campaign!" link in your campaign page (Unless you are already following/friends with everyone in that campaign).

Same question. Adding a Friend is completely unintuitive. With ZERO direction on the Friends page. Really, come on. Take five minutes and put some direction on the Friends page. Or what the heck PUT THE REPLY from the admin on the page!!!!

Sweet! And I do apologize for transmitting my elevated digital irritation. But I just tend see so many easy solutions to make things smother.... and then I get bent when they are not there, and then I type.... lol.

Thanks for the quick response, you made my morning!

No problem. I understand the frustrations. The issue is that there are 1000 little things like that which would make using the site easier. I'm doing my best to stay on top of them. And that's what this forum is for. So people can tell me what they're having difficulty with. That way, I know where the most important areas to fix are.
