Create a stat block

This just strikes me as something that all campaigns here would have run across - yet no regular use of stat blocks can be found (at least not by me..) across the site! I looked at characters in many different campaigns, and only one appeared to have a statistics area filled in on the Details page; and it was badly formatted at that.

Am I missing something? Where is it that you DM's and ST's are tracking this information? Do you take put it in some local storage space, another site, on-site but in some way completely hidden to my prying eyes, or just on paper and keep it nearby in-game?

I will post up my table-formatted stat block for new World of Darkness if you simply +1 this post

There are a few characters that I know of that use tables to stat themselves out:

Also, the next big feature that we will be working on is dynamic character sheets. Also, in the mean time, we might allow GMs and players to define templates simplify the current stat process.

I s'pose that definable templates would be a decent workaround while the dynamic character sheets are being worked on; obviously not a replacement though.

Anywho, code block (EDIT: code blocks don't appear to work properly..instead one should click Quote This Post to get the codes to show up, then copy-paste the codes I used into your characters' Details section):

This one is for good for standard mortals, and with a few edits it will fit the template you are using:

This one is for medieval settings.. (Requiem for Rome, or using Mirrors recommended skills list for such a setting)

Our Group uses Maptool digital game table software, which allows most of a character's information to be stored in the campaign file attached to a character's token. We have no real need of character sheets here on EW (Loot and Gear tracking is enough for us), though that shouldn't be taken as a vote against the creation of same.

Not a problem at all :)

Yea, that's what I figured (that those with no character stats on their character details page must be using 3rd party software or another site to hold their character information)

Very nice, can't wait for the dynamic sheets.

Thanks

I just use PC-Gen or HeroLab with their BBCode output and place it in the WIKI. Works great as the software does all of the hardwork for me. Plus, I normally have all of the characters in a HeroLab file and as we game I check off what spells they use, feats and such to make sure MapTool is doing it's job.

They support BBCode? Nice! I wholly endorse this!

Ya the Hero Lab program is very cool for character generation with lots of export options including BBCode and others. That the good news. Also the actual use of the program is very easy. You have to pay for the base program and each game system or ruleset, as well as supplement packages.

Now the other great news is if you play Pathfinder it is very cool because they have great support and stay up with all the releases. They are also doing a great supporting Shadowrun as a new game. Also Mutants & Mastermind is well supported. However some of the games that have fallen out of support are white wolf and world of darkness.

Wizards of the Coast 4e ruleset is supported with the potential to upload their content with a side program.

So the ones that are supported well they rock. The ones that are not are a stretch to build characters without all the content or custome build the pieces you need.
