Running a campaign

I haven't been around, buried by life, still buried, but I'm a gamer. This technology stuff isn't my best suit, but I'm trying my damnedest to relearn it (had XP, life kicked me in the butt and my hard drive fried, four years later I come back to Vista... running 7 now). Anyway, I'm trying to get my bearings back here and the idea is to run a pbp here on EW.

Now, I need a place for characters. My idea is to create a wiki for them and run the campaign in the journal. Is that the way to go about it?

OK, no input here from the experts, so I'm just doing what I can. I have a character template wiki with a child wiki to enter characters. I tried to use the table formatting, but couldn't get it to come out right, so the template is a long list. Additionally, I mostly just copied The End character sheet. Been a long time since I entered the original info on the game and some of the categories may not apply.

I've opened up the journal for editing by the players so we can conduct the game there.

If someone has a better way to do this, I'd sure like to know.

Sorry for the late response... The Thanksgiving holiday has kept me out of contact the last several days.
Of course, you're free to use EW's tools in whatever way works best for your needs. Other PBP games run here have used the Forums for game play. The forums allow you to post in-character. If you have an EW character in the campaign or if you are the GM and have NPCs set up in the Wiki section.
If updating the journal works better for you, then go for it. It was designed for more long-winded monologs (like recapping the story, explaining character backgrounds, etc.). The Forums are set up for more of a back-and-forth style of communication.
