So we have merchants now, thanks very much!!! Could we however get a little guidance on setting up and using them? Most of it is self explanatory I guess but I just want to be sure I'm not missing something before I start entering in a lot of data.

Thanks!

Is this in regard to the new Catalog feature on the Loot page?

Well, in regards to all of it. I added a catalog, assigned it to an merchant, have something in it... all good so far. Now what? I don't see what to do with it from there. Is it something that will look different to the characters only?

Just wondered how it all works out.

Thanks for asking about this... There will be more guidance on these pages in the next few days...
First, you need to create a catalog of loot. This represents items that are available for purchase in your game. E.g. "Weapons", "Armor", "Mundane Items".

Then you create a merchant. It's just a special type of NPC that characters can purchase from. When you view your merchant, you can add to their inventory from any of the catalogs you set up.

When characters are viewing merchants, they will be able to purchase any of the inventory as long as they can afford it.

Can we delete catalogs? Because I can't seem to figure out how, and now I have a couple of ones I made to test it out that I can't get rid of...

Not yet. I'll have that worked out by tomorrow.

Is there a way to set quantity available from a given merchant?

Also, if somebody goes through the work to catalog items from Pathfinder, could you export it and share? Pretty Please?

It's like you're reading my mind! The ground work for both these features has already been laid.
Better than sharing, I'm hoping that eventually, settings and rule systems will have their own catalogs and that campaigns will simply inherit them. That will be a bit down the road. An export-and-share might be a quicker solution. Thanks for the suggestion!

Question/feature request to this, though I think it was mentioned...

Loot function (mostly for something like a dragon horde or an dead NPC with a full suite of gear) -- it would be nice for when it's time to divvy up the PC's can basically 'buy' the stuff from the carcass for free.

A value still needs to be associated with the item, so everyone can see who as what, it can be sold (without me having to go in an add a value to it after the fact), etc. But just for the purposes of divvying up the spoils the merchant feature could put much of the RP'ing -- meta-gaming -- for loot on the PC's.

I like that idea. It wouldn't be too difficult to put in place a 'sell price' when I add quantity to merchants's loot.
