Complaint.

I am supporting member and have been since we found you way back when. Why must I prove I'm human for every post or thing I do?

Take it off, its very annoying. If you're a supporting member that should be enough proof your human.

I can settle for doing it ONCE per login, but not every damn mesage.

Please resolve this issue ASAP.

I hear you. You only need to prove you're human on the site forums. And this was just a quick hack to prevent hundreds of spam messages flooding the site. It isn't permanent. The plan is to move the "human test" to the registration page. If I can prevent spammers from signing up on the site in the first place, then there won't be any need to check humanity on the rest of the site.

With the lack of civility in the first post...human?

Lack nothing. I am a paying member I have the right to complain. I could see if I was a common free person, then I'd have no voice or ground to stand on. But as a 2 year supporting member I do.

Thanks for looking into removing it Jonathan.

It's perfectly reasonable to voice a complaint! (and very human, as well!) I welcome all feedback (even from "free" users... although, yes, Epic Supporters carry more weight). Especially complaints. That's how the site improves.

Complaining is helpful, but it can be done with less agression.

I lost post after post due to it. Because you forget. I've never been in a forum you had to do that. So naturally you re read and hit post. But I will apologize for the aggression - I was very annoyed

Thanks DM Vincent! And I do really understand. These guys here at Epic Words rock! We get good value for $12 a year. Much better than "other" sites like this. To bad the spammers are wrecking things, and sorry you lost your posts.

I'm sorry for the lost posts, as well. That's an unfortunate part of the 'hack' nature of this fix. I applied the change in about 30 minutes in between flurries of spam. My inbox was flooded with notification of posting and complaints from legitimate users (whose inboxes were also flooded). It was an emergency fix. I am taking my time to put in a real fix that will be much less aggravating. My goal is to have it up this weekend.

I for one will "endure" the "Hack" of proving "I am human" for now to avoid the flood of emails posted by spammers. At 4:00 PM on "the day" I received the following flood of emails 85, 65 and 50 i think. Around 200 emails that had to be deleted and maybe some real emails I missed in the process. I am subscribed to hundreds of threads on this board and do not want to have this flood thing happen.

I of course do not like to little gizmo but it is nothing compared to deleting the emails. I would like to have the gizmo attached to the account creation process which should prevent spammers creating accounts (I am not versed in this only guessing). Or maybe upon the login each time, and then removing it from the forums.

Regards

PS the word for this post was Elf ;-)

At least the word gizmo is gaming orientated as opposed to the bizarre letter number combos at strange angles.
