Forum & Journal Polls

I would like to re-open my request polls in the forums and I think there could be some use for them in the journals, however this would not be the primary focus.

People may not ask for them often, however if it is a feature I think people would use it.

Sure thing! As always, the more requests I get for a new feature, the more likely it appears on the site.

At long last, polls are now available! You can attach them to forum threads. Go ahead and try them out and let me know how they work for you! Eventually, I may attach them to other things like sessions, campaign dashboards, etc..

Poll are a great new feature, love em!

A recommendation or such for the future would be a total count on each choice line to the far right so you can quickly see what choice is in the lead.

A choice of No End Date or End Date for the polls. Sometimes there is a deadline and other time there is not. Maybe more complicated but a future thought.

Notifications I am on the fence about. I think maybe if there is a deadline everyone should get a notification that it has closed. Not sure how I would feel about getting a notification every time someone votes. On the other hand as people vote this would prompt other to have and interest, again on the fence here.

Great suggestions! I had the same thought about the totals when looking at my own polls here. An end date might be a bit complicated, but perhaps I can allow you to lock a poll to prevent people from updating their answers.

Maybe if not using notifications for each poll response, maybe there could be a poll section on the Dashboard or front page?

I know there is already a lot on the front but just a thought.

I definitely need to add poll related activities and notifications. I'm also thinking about making polls campaign wide. Which would put them on the dashboard.

Ok since we are really cranking in the poll section.

What about a second answer box for a possible/optional link that could connect someone to a source forum or information.

Edit: I said answerand I meant a second box beside the question that the person creating the poll could (optional) place a link to more info. Need more caffeine.
