iplay4e support?

« Previous 1
Hi folks,

Lovely site. I also have a site, iplay4e, which is a mobile character sheet and tracker that uses dnd4e files produced by the Character Builder. The site supports embedding with an HTML snippet like this:

<iframe src="http://iplay4e.appspot.com/characters/asPhonePage?key=agdpcGxheTRlchALEglDaGFyYWN0ZXIYplYM" style="width:335px;border:none; height:520px; padding:0;" frameborder="no"></iframe>

I would love to be able to embed characters on Epic Words. Of course, it won't accept the HTML snippet, so I can't do so right now. But I could envision some special code to allow it (which means coding work for you ;-), e.g.:

[iplay4e] agdpcGxheTRlchALEglDaGFyYWN0ZXIYplYM[/iplay4e]

You could convert that into the proper iframe HTML under the hood. Please contact me here or directly if you think this is an interesting idea.

Cheers,
Andrew

Very nice. My players would love this feature. Count me and mine as supporters of this very, very awesome idea.

has this been implimented? I joined via a link from Iplay4E and would like to link them. Please advise how this is done if it is working.

This is indeed implemented. Sorry for taking so long.

When create/update a character, there is a box available for adding your iplay4e code. Also, you can add iplay4e codes to journal posts like so:

[ iplay4e ]agdpcGxheTRlchALEglDaGFyYWN0ZXIYplYM[/iplay4e]
(remove the space around "iplay4e")

As the DM of the campaign I had not messed with the player side of things. I was wondering about the campaign side. IPlay4E has a code for the campaign as well, is this usable in any way?

As a test of the IPlay4E stuff I went and uploaded a character for another campaign that I play in. I notice that the native view is wider than the area allowed by the box, this requires scrolling which is annoying. Is there any way to widen the Epic Worlds box to be the same width as the IPlay4E view?

You're not the first person to complain about this. There isn't a way to widen the view yet, but we'll look into it today. I'll post here with an update this afternoon.

Well, it looks like we have a quick fix that should work. Unfortunately, it does break our site's standard layout, but this is a special case. Please check your characters' pages and let me know if this new layout is acceptable.

Tweaked it again. Unfortunately, now it covers some of the right side links, so we added a link to hide it if necessary. The reason for this last tweak is because on small screens the left side of the iplay4e pane was cut off. Hopefully, this should satisfy.
As usual, please post here if it still needs adjusting or if it doesn't display correctly on your browser.
