Flame Drakes and the Pillar of Doom!
Lamashan the 8th
A quiet day for once, highly enjoyable it goes uneventfully, we headed to Wilderness Wears and the Boars Bone Inn, talking , drinking, and resupplying throughout it.
Lamashan the 9th
The next day we all gather up as usual, myself smoking away with my pipe and making rings with the smoke. Rofellos comes down last , not even a hello and the damn elf accuses me of stealing! I don't even sleep in the same building! I stay at the Boars Bones Inn the avoid this crap, flipping ELF! He claims to be missing some sunrods. I did not take them! , nor do I have any need.I can cast light without the darn things!
Roshin and Kaylan calm him down and we decide to report it Tolgrith at Fort Thorn. He comments and says he will look into it for us. While there we mention that we will venture out today to gather up and search for more herbs and crafting resources.
Also we do inquire about the Lizard men. Meh! How I hate them and Bugbears too! I like Tolgrith though, He does not like the idea of making contact with them either.
Off we go, to the south for some herbs. This is gonna be a boring trip unless I can convince Kamahl to help me look for some wild tobacco plants. After some walking we her a scuffle in the distance. Bored I go and check it out. To the northeast of us appear to be some wild boars. Quietly we go around and avoid them, no one's in the mood for any fun.
The day passes uneventfully from there, we set camp and rest.
Lamashan the 10th- Fireday
The next morning, we set off following Kamahls lead in the search for herBs, hoping to keep some for ourselves as well. Midday, Midna finds a clearing, and Kamahl starts gathering up what he needs, we scribe the location down on the map and begin to look for some more resources in the foothills. Later we set camp with Rofellos setting an Alarm spell on our gear and we sleep on till morning.
Lamashan the 11th
We return to Fort Thorn and give the herbs we gathered to Tolgrith and some shopkeepers. From there we check on the merchants , It seems Able has come back today. Hope those owl bear cubs were worth it! Seeing him at Wilderness Wears and thanks to Rofellos all paranoid and watching our gear as we chat with him.
He pays us off nicely (5000gp) and in gems too!
Our transactions done we set off, while leaving Rofellos's Alarm spell goes off! He must of set it again to try and catch that thief!
We head on to the barracks where his gear is , I split off, using some stealthy moves through the bushes and load my crossbow! Told you I didn't do it!
As they approach they see Uris, the nephew from the Boars Bones Inn, slowly leaving the barracks rather nervously. We question him, with Roshin and I escorting Uris to my room in the Inn for some more inquiries. Revealing the lost gear and obtaining the method he used to steal them. A wax key was all, Impressed I take some notes for later, never knowing if I could use it myself. Apparently, Uris is impressed by our tales and wanted to go adventure himself. With Roshin's advice we go and find Uris's uncle Orind ,the proprietor, and discuss the plans he has for Uris and his future. We suggest some things to Orind about Uris's interest and also as we part I hand Uris, a Halfling himself, a dagger from my collection as a thanks for the wax trick. Not at all mentioning his thievery.
We end our day resting and eating up.
Lamashan the 12th Sunday
Pretty quiet, no one working today another
uneventful one.
Lamashan the 13th - Moonday
Patrolling today with the work crews,nothing crazy today either, though someone did see a lizard man in the evening.
As we come in later, Tolgrith stops us and say he has heard and seen some smoke coming from the northwest, asking us to look into it. Wait that's close to Kamahl's druidy friends place! We head in that direction past Oakbrow's home and north of the road .We come to a clearing with the fire still ablaze. After some thinking by Roshin, he thinks this is where the Fey were also attacked some time ago! We search the area finding claw markings and a stone burrow. Not a thing to be found, we check the remaining fire, noticing it is not natural at all but magical. Kamahl Quenches the fire out.
After sometime, Oakbrow and a wolf walk in on us. We inquire about any known creatures in the area that may be after the Fey. He mentions some fire drakes and offers us a stay in his glade before we are to go track them down.
The next few days pass quickly with us reporting to Tolgrith of what happened and with us working with the road crews.
Lamashan the 17th
While out with the workers a scout approaches rather hurriedly.
The Fort, the Fort, is under attack! We gather our gear and make our way there fast! When we arrive the battle is over, there is talk of the flame drakes again and that they had headed off to the northeast.
Well looks like this Widget is going Hunting!
We gather more gear, Roshin now with a bow in hand. Where as I have a pie , eating as I stand.MMM...
Lamashan the 18th Toilday
We set off once again , this time in search of the fire drakes. Deciding to head towards Pointer Rock we make our approach and take a perimeter check of the surrounding areas.
Suddenly Kamahl, Turns into a Bird! I didn't know he could do that! He sets off flying scanning the skies! When he returns he mentions 3 are asleep and one is on watch at the top of the Peak. Undecided on our plan of attack we split off, kinda wondering what everyone is doing. With only Kaylan and Roshin in the area I cast Resistance spells on them in a hurry!
Suddenly we hear a roar and the smell of burning wood. The drake is attacking! The three of us head on up the ramp of the spire. Avoiding a second blast from one of the others as we go. Damn these little feet! I'm not moving fast enough up this thing! I can't see Kaylan and Roshin anymore! After some time I see Midna coming on up behind me.Thats it! If I can hitch a ride on Midna, I can get to the fight quicker, to help the others!
Woo Hoo! Midna agrees and we go! Wow this tigers fast! Hearing some screams, I hope I can make it in time. Not seeing Kamahl, I may be the only one that can heal them! We make it to the top, I jump off Midna. The cat advancing to attack, I see Roshin, Rofellos, and Kaylan on fighting. When did the elf show up? Roshin screams for some healing and off to work I go! I heal Roshin and in time too, he looks beat. Kaylan backs off towards me and I do the same while the others are continuing the attack on the fire drakes. This wasn't what I expected, oh well a tale for another day.Midna moves in and attacks as well. Two are down now, this is going all to quick. I think I might just jump back in forth between the monk and fighter healing away. It seems to be working! Wait what is wrong with me? All I'm doing is healing!?! Better then Dying I suppose.
Kamahl now in the fray, did he climb the peak? With only one Drake left we have a chance!Before we can do anything,it decides
to flea and fly on off. As it goes Kamahl notices it had a gold collar around its neck. Was it being controlled? I wonder how much that collar is worth?
