Dark Sun: Rising
Chapter 7: Simple Plan/Complicated Execution
While preparing for their assault on Tsalaxa's fort, the party spotted a small group of travelers heading in their direction. Two mul slaves led by a woman on an adult inix were journeying to the fort. The party wanted to ambush them, but Anamis had other plans. While the others slipped through the underbrush for a good point of attack, Anamis Black strode out into view and announced his party's plans.

The human, Arra, was a slaver of the Caranok merchants (or raiders, depending on who you ask). She was going to speak with Oathem Tsalaxa about a slave Caranok had interest in. The party offered to pay 1,200gp if Arra would accompany them into the fort, thereby granting them access. She agreed and they paid half up front.

Once in the fort, the party made a solid bluff about interest in good gladiator stock, but plans became muddled when Arra wanted to purchase the same slave, only to have him murdered. Since Kelek's death was the opposite of their goals, the party opted to attack instead. A bloody battle ensued, ending with the death of both Arra and Oathem Tsalaxa. Before they could talk down Tsalaxa's slaves, however, a massive dust devil, followed by a flock of arakocra, assaulted the fort, leaving damage in its wake.

If I'd known it was gonna be that kind of party...

The dust devil seemed to be fueled by pure rage, and had no direct interest in any of the heroes; it just wanted to cause damage and strife. After tearing through the fort it continued onward leaving the party in a bad place against the arakocra scavengers.

Bird bird bird, the bird is the word !

When the blood and feathers had finally cleared, Crusher and Anamis lay bleeding out on the walls, Pak'Cha was being hauled back into the tower through the window, and Sanguine was trying to hold her innards in until she could regenerate. The arakocra were scattered, but not entirely unsuccessful. They had managed to steal a few magical items from the party before fleeing, though their numbers had significantly dwindled.

The party would survive, however, and had been successful in rescuing Kelek. There were five other slaves, too; each of them more grateful than the next. And each had offers of their own...

Since Cory and Matt mentioned it, I figure I'll comment here -- The plot cards we were using has obviously fallen by the wayside, mostly due to us needing to exit after games quickly. As, such, I would request you post those hopeful elements in the comments section here, below the session recap. That's a perfect place for me to review and I can either copy them to a card, or adjust my plans accordingly.
Other then the text's I sent ya and the idea's I had in them I have little else i'd be wanting to see just yet. I am curious though if the earlier ones done are still around or if we should resubmit them by commenting here.

I would like to see some form of resolution to what came up and was done in the journal post I ran this week if possible! :)
I do have the cards. They're sitting on the table behind us, though it might just be beneficial to either repost them, or just focus on what's piquing your interests now.
Treasure for this session:

45 supply days
5 tanzanite gems worth 500gp each.
One finely carved tigers eye agate with a dwarven rune inscribed upon it. Worth 50gp.
Obsidian Longsword
Obsidian toothed whip

Inside Oathem's vault - 850gp, vellum & quills (50gp), wyrmsilk rope (50gp) bone and scorpion chitin +2 hidden dagger, 2 vials bloodstinger poison (level 8), 4 agony beetles.
Thought the game was good. Lots of combat, decent RP, and lots of mayhem and destructionm. What more could players want. However we did get owned preaty badly by the scavangers. A loss of a few magic items for a players life was shitty but nessisary in the end. Defently looking forward to next game, and the chance to integrate the toddler back into the gaming group.
Here is what I want to see next game. The Inix being a mount for someone. I think Solaris or myself is a good choice. As far as i can tell Solaris doesnt do alot of teleporting, the additional movement would help his ability to heal, and the extra hp and damage from the mount would help keep him afloat.

I have a few powers that can allow me a climb speed, and a teleport, but those dont come into play to often. The mounts movement would help me close faster in combat, and i might draw alot more attacks with the Inix as my mount. That is a good thing considering we have some decent defenders, and i can do considerable amounts of damage when being attacked. Besides all that the Inix as a mount would be badass.

We either get him as a mount or we eat him.. your choice Dustin... your choice.
