The Journal of Caeradwyn

Caeradwyn's Log: Seventeenth of Mirtul - Supplemental
What a whirlwind of a night. Between the Nerathi and Dragon-kin brawling in the streets and the cultists committing all manner of heinous acts, I feel drained.

I am no hero. I seek my fame and fortunes through the advances in magical study and instruction. Yet, here I am, once again, facing down the enemies of others; and for what? The humans did nothing for us when the Formorians attacked. Maybe that is the answer; Help those who deny you help in the vain hope of teaching them; to that end I will be their instructor.

And what of my companions? Intellectually, they are inferor; culturally, they are lacking; however, I find there is something that binds us together. It is intangible, yet unbreakable. It may be that our destinies are more entwined than I previously surmised.

Caeradwyn's Log: Seventeenth of Mirtul
Outrage does not begin to describe how I feel! The Court will be very displeased at these events. Do the humans not understand that I am an ambassador? I am not some mucker who's lot in life is to play shepherd to animals.

And of the cattle; what do I care? It is not my failure that causes the killings.

I expected to take a warm bath and get settled in before I began teaching. Yet, here I am, still wandering around with these so-called heroes protecting the human's food. I am beginning to regret volunteering for this "honor".

I will finish my entry at a later time. Marius believes we can discover more where the dragonborn live. Anything is better than the smell of cattle...

I still question these travelers and their motives. The old templar is lying about something; else why would he concoct such a ludicrous story that he survived a battle with Blackheart? Despite his story, and questionable fighting prowess, he does have an honest quality about him.

Upon entering the Feywild, I disrupted the Wild Hunt and nearly caused the deaths of everyone. How fortunate for us that the Goliath proved a more than capable adversary. As simple as he seems, he does remind me of the oft encountered wood elves; they enjoy nature and the beauty around them, although they do lack that reckless competitive spirit.

I was quite disappointed to leave the my home so quickly; this world lacks the euphoria that even a calm feywild breeze can entice. The disappointment is compounded by the fact that the nearest fey crossing was still roughly a day's hike from Hestavar. Pelor will not be forgiving in this desert.

One more thing of note: After encountering a displacer beast, I was fortunate in recovering much of its body for examination. According to most texts, the displacer beasts fur and teeth are comprised of residuum; making invaluable reagents for my many arcane rituals.

Caeradwyn's Log: Thirteenth of Mirtul
My journey from Arborlon to the human settlement, Roaming River, was met with no excitement. There is little that interests me in the human's world. Everything is muted and stained with gray; I long for the vibrant colors of dawn across the shores of the moonsea.

I was introduced to some other allies of Nerath on my travel. We were to make for Hestavar together; safety in numbers, I suppose.

Were it not for the lack of strength in their legs and the fortitude of their loins, we would not have rested at the inn; nearly causing the death of me. I have not before encountered an Oni, though I have much knowledge of them. Thankfully, that knowledge proved beneficial in saving my allies. I only wish I could have saved the minstrel; lewd as his music was. Come to think of it, I neither saw, nor heard, any pigs when we arrived at the in...

I have to wonder about these adventurers. The Goliath is, without a doubt, very strong. His resolve, however, is somewhat lacking. The two humans are interesting, as well. I have my suspicions about the templar, but it'll have to wait. Marius, however, seems to have one too many vices. That may prove to be a liability if he cannot keep them in check.

For now, that is all I have to report on. After we bury the dead we will continue toward the fey crossing I have located. It will be a welcome respite from the both dingy and dangerous human trails.
