Week 7 - The Taste of Victory?
Gerroll coughed violently as he watched the wounded being collected. He did a silent count in his mind... and determined he was now 26-1 in large scale battles. Adrenaline was leaving his body and now all he was left with was the pain.

He rode into the town and told Zevron he was going to get a drink. After he entered the tavern, he went to his room and pulled off the gauntlet on his left hand. The dressing had been new this morning, but, just like every day, it was soiled and mushy. He drained a glass of spiced wine, and then unwrapped his hand. Even with the wine the pain was nearly blinding.

He forced himself to look at his hand. The muscle in the middle of his hand had atrophied and there was a gouge the exact size of gold coin that went almost through to the back of his hand.

His mind wandered to the battle he lost. All he remembered was the heat. The goblins had set a fire behind their lines and attacked their flank. He was attempting to re-order the lines when it happened. The goblins had heated gold and silver to near the melting point and hurled them with a catapult. His hand had gone up reflexively and saved his life, but he had never known a day without pain since.

Gerroll went back to the inn and decided to drink as much spiced wine as he could to make the pain go away. He knew that he would soon be riding off again, and it was time to enjoy himself for one night. Sure enough, after the 8th drink, even the spiced wine started tasting good.....

Week 6 - Hot Drink
Gerroll felt time stop as his axe cleaved deeply into the tar-devils chest. The black tar oozed slowly out, as it struggled to keep upright and kill him with its last gasp. Without even thinking about it, Gerroll let go of his axe and pulled out his flask and took a large drink. The alcohol burned his mouth and his eyes began to water, but with all of the force he could muster, he spit the alcohol at the tar devil. At first he didn't think anything was going to happen, but suddenly the alcohol caught fire and erupted with a small explosion as the tar both inside and outside of the tar devil exploded. Gerroll tightened the lid on his flask and placed it back under his cloak muttering... 'What a waste of good drink....'

Week 5 - Leftovers
Nothing new on the drinking front this week. Gerrol managed to drink most of the elven wine and had to break into his good stuff after fighting the evil Skeleton Mage. He had hoped to buy something good when he returned to civilization, but of course, he didn't have time since he spent all of his time preparing defenses. Hopefully they would be alive in three days time and he doubted he'd have to pay for a drink in this area for the rest of his life.

Week 4 - Elven Wine
This week's drinking selection was highly limited as they did not stop in a civilized town. Gerrol was forced to drink crappy Elven wine. Unfortunately, it is not very potent and tastes like a good approximation of dwarf piss.

Gerrol hopes that next week they will be able to stop in a real town in order to pick up something worth drinking.
