Description:
Frydas is a tall fair skinned warrior with flaming red hair. She dresses in layers of fur and leather, and is accustomed to all 4 seasons.

She's very focused, and on guard near constantly these days. Only on rare occasion will she relax enough to seem to enjoy herself. When she's around children though, she visibly melts a little.

Accustomed to battle, she quickly blends in as just another fighter when in a group, but alone in a city she gets the stares that a women dressed as a warrior will attract. This pisses her off, but she tries not to cause trouble. There have been too many men decide it's their duty to put her in her place, any it's getting annoying.

Her hair, and her ability shake off bloody wounds has gained her the nick name of "Red". She likes it, and started introducing herself as such.
Background:
Frydas the Red hails from the edges of the Borderlands. She is the only child of the village chief. She excels at riding and her sword work is some of the quickest in the area. Red does her part to defend against the raiders common to the borderlands, which makes her father proud. She married young to warrior named Stamos, thought to be a good candidate for village chief one day. He was fierce in battle, but truly cared little for politics. Red accepted the marriage proposal because he showed her respect on the battlefield, and would likely let her take on a role of leadership in the village, even if tradition makes it unofficial.

What started out as a political marriage soon gave way to the passions of youth, and it was not long before Red gave birth to twins - a son and daughter. For a time they were very happy.

Recently, there was a particularly savage raid on the village. Red placed the children in the center-most longhouse, with the other villagers too young or too old to do battle, and went to join her husband and father at the gates. There was a ferocious explosion that killed most everyone near the walls. Red was blown back and knocked unconscious. Near half a house fell on top of her, both endangering her life from fire, but hiding her from view of the raiders.

She awoke to pain as fire spread along the timbers that trapped her legs. The only lever she had that was not aflame was her sword, but the handle was burning hot. She grabbed it, permanently searing the village key design into her palms, and managed to free herself from the wreckage.

Except for the fire, the village was quiet. Not even an animal cried out. Red search every building in the village, and found no survivors. The longhouse that held the children was empty, with the elders slain. Eventually she found the bodies of her husband and father among the carnage at the gates. She was alone.

Raiders commonly took children to sell in the markets, so Red set out to find them, convinced the twins were still alive. Since she didn't make it to the wall, she never saw the raiders, and does not know who they were. Her only clues are a few small bladed weapons she found amongst the bodies, and half-remembered shouts of frightened villagers describing what they were wearing. None of it is familiar to her.

Red has been searching for some month's now. On her way to the next big city in which to look for her children, she's found herself traveling with a caravan, for safer travel and some pay.
