Back to the Spirit Realm
Yes!! I manage to push myself, Mitsuke, and Kusac back through the portal and into the Spirit World! That should stop the two potential Avatars from fighting to the death! (One of whom is my brother and one of whom is my best friend!)

Oh, crap. Zenna follows us through . . . . still possessed/controlled by his Avatar spirit. I was hoping he would regain control if they were separated! I still don't know if he has a part of Rava(the good spirit who has empowered all previous Avatars) that has simply been corrupted by Vhatu(her evil counterpart) OR if his Avatar-like powers come directly from Vhatu without a trace of goodness in him. He certainly acts differently than when we were children, though a lot HAS happened to us in the past year!
Mitsuke and I try to convince him not to fight us and discuss what has happened, but he only sees her as his villainous counterpart who must be destroyed. He believes he has Rava in him and that Mitsuke has Vhatu in her. He doesn't see how backwards that is!

He puts a wall between us and by the time Kusac and I break through it, he's already stopped attacking Mitsuke and started trying to free the spirit trapped in the giant Tree, behind her. Oh, no!! He thinks it's Rava trapped in the Tree! But it must be Vhatu's remaining pieces in there!! That's where Korra trapped him, 100 years ago! If he frees the evil spirit, there will be 10,000 years of darkness!!
Instead of trying to defeat this evil Avatar (so much for my corrupted theory!), Kusac commands Mitsuke and myself to run deeper into the Spirit Realm. I suppose that if we get far enough away, the Avatar spirit will leave Zenna less powerful. Kusac believes that while he cannot defeat Zenna, he CAN keep him from breaking the prison of the Tree and releasing Vhatu into the world. We take him for his word and skedaddle. (Does anyone still say that?!)
It turns out that Mitsuke had borrowed the powers of Earth Bending from the Lion-Turtle that we had met. It was the only way to reopen the Northern Spirit Portal! But now, as promised, she needed to return those powers or anger one of the most powerful creatures on our world! We manage to find him pretty easily and return the powers she borrowed, thanking him profusely, of course. The next step wasn't so clear. Without our mentor (who at this point was likely no longer with us . . . . forever! {cry}), we were a bit confused. The Lion-Turtle suggests that Mitsuke needed to Master her fourth element, before Sozin's Comet smashed into the moon. But, how could she Master Earth Bending without a Master Trainer?! He points out that she HAS one, and my eyes grow wide!! Is the Lion-Turtle going to train her?! How awesome!! When I was trained in Earth Bending , I just had . . . . . . . . oh . . . . . . . . he means me. I guess, technically, I'm an Earth Master. I've never even considered training someone else how to do it, but I suppose that it's possible! Especially since she's just recently had a taste of how it feels from her time with the borrowed powers. . . . . A little bead a sweat appears at my brow as I consider how hard this is going to be! I hope we can do it in montage, because this is going to be SO boring for regular viewers!!

. . . .

We spend a month or so (does time in the Spirit Realm pass the sand as the . . . . "Real" World?!) in intense training. . . . . and Speculation. It's likely that Zenna is spending this same time learning his fourth element, as well. Assuming that they know about the deadline of Sozin's Comet approaching, that is. Well, it's pretty obvious that it's coming. We see it getting larger, even here in the Spirit World. We also realize that it's going to be cutting it close for us two getting to the 'rocket' launching site in time. Even if Singehn, Kohna, and Yoshike manage to get us a place on this 'ship', we will have to rush to find them before they launch it! The Lion-Turtle tells us of another way to get to the moon, and it's inside the palace of the Northern Water Tribe! Sweet!! He also tells us that Zenna has not only failed to free the remaining parts of the spirit of Vhatu, but he has left the area of the Northern Water folk! That means we are unlikely to encounter problems on our way to this secret garden of Yuae(the moon)! Especially if Mitsuke can restore the appearance of the heir to the throne! Now that she's mastered all four elements AND has a smattering of experience in dealing with Spirit matters, that shouldn't be a problem.
And, in fact, it isn't. We return to the northern portal, passing the Tree (being protected by Kusac! He's frozen the whole area, but he's trapped inside! Well, we'll just have to come rescue him, once Zenna is no longer determined to free the spirit of darkness!). The guards at the city take us straight to the king, queen, and heir, where we tell our story. We ask about the rocket and Bingchaun shows up! He's been sent to bring us to the ship before it launches, but we calculate that we can't make it in time. We ask about Plan B, and the monarchs grant us leave to use their sacred garden to transport us to the moon (!!!?!!) and Bingchaun uses his messenger falcon to send a message to the others (I had totally forgotten about that thing!!). He tells the other group that we'll meet them on the moon!
So, Mitsuke, Bingchaun, and I go to this sacred garden, hidden deep within the castle. It's lovely and has a pond with two beautiful fish swimming circles in it, reminding me of a YinYang symbol. Very interesting! Mitsuke begins meditating and trying to figure out how to get us to the moon. I feel a strange stirring in my pocket and discover it's coming from my White Lotus tile! It's like compass, pointing not only toward the Earth that we stand upon (very likely this will be our way home, as the monarchs hinted at!) but also pointing toward the moon! Between Mitsuke and myself, we discover a path between worlds and actually make it to the moon in time to see not only Sozin's Comet, seemingly on a collision course, but also a strange metal object hurtling towards us. That must be the 'rocketship'!! (What a strange combination of creatures, now that I've said it aloud!) I hope our friends are safely on that 'rocketship'!!
Just as I'm thinking that, it explodes!!! I knew that's what rockets were supppsed to do!! I thought Yoshike was supposed to STOP that part from happening!!
What now?!

Rocket Theft
I'm going to be a space pirate.

First of his kind. No one's ever done something like this before. Even if I wasn't part of Team Avatar, I'd still be in the history books. First man in space. First pirate in space. First man on the moon. First... what do you call this? Certainly not Grand Theft Auto. And I get to pilot the damn thing! If we weren't heroes, we'd probably be in big trouble, but I'm sure saving the world will earn us some clemency. And money. And babes.

Yes, Sozin's Comet is still out there (always with the Firebenders, huh?) but Mitsuke is on her way some how, and I'm sure that we can handle this, as long as nothing unexpected comes up.

Epic × 2!
Reunited and it feels so {meh}.
Well, I managed to make a shelter for myself and the four (weren't there five?) Benders who came through the Spirit Portal and then closed it. The Portal remains closed and no sign of Mitsuke or Kusac anywhere. The Earth chunks I managed to dig up from deep under the ice keep the wind from cutting through me (us) but I can't get a fire started. I guess it's time to head back to the city! I make a sled out of one of the chunks and manage to get all four prisoners back and into the hands of the royals guards before any of us freeze!
The king and the queen (or is it the queen and the king? I can't tell them apart, sometimes even when they're talking!) and the new queen/princess (politics is hard, OK?) are very interested in my story. If the portal is closed for good, that's a major change for the area, I'd guess. Their determine that the best course of action is to send a contingent of guards up to the area where the portal should be in anticipation of it reopening and Mitsuke and Kusac coming back through. I thought that my best plan was to try to join Singehn, Yoshike, Kohna, and Bingchuanin in their efforts to find this "space-ship" heading to the moon. The queen (or king?) thinks its best if I'm there for the return of the portal. I guess they're right.
They find me some warmer clothes and the team they're sending is way more prepared for the weather conditions, so I'm OK with this. I let the others work out the details, since they seem like they've done this, before. We get back up there but there's some people already standing around where the portal used to be, looking concerned. I recognize one, immediately. My brother, Zenna. {Ugh!}. This isn't what I had in mind. I don't know if I'm ready to see him, again. I haven't talked to him since it was discovered that he was (an) Avatar! I decide to avoid this conversation/confrontation for as long as possible. I pretend to be one of the workers setting up tents and staying out of his view, but close enough to listen to him and his White Lotus handlers.
It seems they expect him to reopen the gate, despite not having Mastered all four of the elements, yet. He's not sure how to do it, without that Mastery. Heck, he hasn't even started training for the fourth! I avoid contact until the set-up is done and people have settled down a bit. Then, I can finally catch him alone, without the White Lotus 'guards' (I mean, guardians) around him. Here's hoping things go well! {Fingers crossed!}
.
.
.
.
{Whew!} He didn't attack me on sight! Nor did he make a big, noisy deal about it, drawing unwanted attention from his handlers. A few moments of privacy is the best I can hope for, though. Let's see what he knows . . . .
Well, he is in fact confused about how to reopen the Portal without all 4 elements. He also believes that he's the only potential Avatar. . . . . when I suggest that Mitsuke could help from the other side of the closed Portal, he scoffs that a simple Fire Bender could do much. He must not remember the fight they had, last time they met . . . . ooooohhhh, crap . . . . this could get bad. When (if?!) she comes back through the reopened Spirit Portal (I hope), I could lose them both . . . .
And, with that thought, a low rumbling sound, the ground (ice?!) shakes a bit, and the Portal reopens!! Yeah!!
.
.
.
And Mitsuke steps through
.
.
.
And her eyes almost immediately turn the white of Avatar form . . . .
.
.
.
As do Zenna's
.
.
.
I rush toward Mitsuke with the intention of knocking us both back through the Portal . . .
.
.
.
I hope I roll well on initiative!!

Whole New World
Well.... Today did not go as expected!! Talk about life changing events!!
Kusac has always been kind of a jerk. To Mitsuke and to me. He didn't want me learning Water Bending techniques to help her out and he didn't seem to like how we were running all over the world trying to fix things. Isn't that what Avatar crews DO?!
But, when we solved (most of) the problem with the Northern Water Tribe heir/princess with little difficulty, his opinion seems to have changed.
While we had the attention of the king & queen (even if we couldn't tell them apart!), Singehn told the information that we had gathered along our journeys and Kusac (who we'd kept this all secret from) took it all in without question. When we explained that we wanted to get Mitsuke on the rocket to the moon (!!?!!), he agreed, but said that she (AND I!!??!!) should stay here to train! She won't be much good without mastering Water Bending, but why did he want me here?! I didn't have to wait long to find out.
He asked me what my long term plans were and I came clean. I explained about how I believed it was possible to bend two elements and never even know it. He gave the usual adult answer of "It's never happened before" and "This could turn out to upset the balance in the world". Then..... He (I think) offered to start training me in the ways of the White Lotus!! The people who trained, helped, and maintained the Avatars, traditionally! Wwwoooooooowwwww!!! I was NOT expecting that!!
I told him that I would have to think about it, but of course, it wasn't long before I was basically acting like his apprentice, running errands and helping him out! This is pretty awesome!! Plus, he had me learning Water Bending alongside Mitsuke!! And not being incredibly patronizing to either of us!! I guess he accepted that she IS (or has a good chance of being) the actual Avatar and should get all the training she could to help defeat the ..... Thousand years of darkness!!!
The other 4 went off on a recon mission to scout the area where the rocket ship was supposed to be being built. We'd catch up once Mitsuke was better trained and (hopefully) had returned the princess's proper face.
After several days of training, he decided that we should check out the northern portal to the Spirit World. When we got there, we discovered 4 people rushing out and soon followed by a giant, shadowy figure. The four started Bending and trying to affect the portal, so we jumped into action. I told Mitsuke to stop the four while Kusac and I distracted the giant shadow (Vahtu?!). Kusac didn't even question my plan, other than a worried look about our giant opponent!!
Strangely, Kusac and I had more of an effect on the creature than I had expected. I was planning on just delaying it until the Avatar could join us. The cracks and missing pieces of the spirit made it weaker and we were able to knock one arm completely off AND back through the portal, even though the portal was flickering in and out. The creature, badly injured, followed its arm back through the portal, as did Mitsuke when we mentioned that if the portal closed, it could only be opened from the other side!! A trip to the south pole to go through that gate could take weeks! Kusac followed her, leaving me with four angry but wounded benders to deal with, all by myself..... and only a couple of pebbles to access my powers through. The "earth" in this area is buried under yards of ice!!
Earth Prodigy for the win!! I took all four of them down (eventually), but by that time the portal had flickered out, completely. I hope Kusac and Mitsuke can figure out how to open it, again. I'll just camp here and wait.....

Northern Water Tribe: Part Two - Political Punishment
We did it. We got Hakoda, the aunt of the Princess to admit what she had done. Her uncle, Paku tried to run away, but was stopped. We have managed to avert a major catastrophe in the Northern Water Tribe. In the process, Kohna almost died. He got greedy and wanted to keep a new fangled device that Varrick Corp had on top of a tower, just a a big 'rocket', like a huge firework slammed into it and exploded. They have some very nasty weapons. Someone needs to find where they are making them. They also had some sort of camera that could send a picture over a cable, a moving picture. They have made some really big advances in the past few years and managed to keep them quite for quite a while.

It looks like we have another trip into the Spirit World to find a cure for the Princess. sigh...

More ice-land problems!
So, we drag the princess-to-be-who-doesn't-look-like-the-real-princess-to-be to the castle, along with Kusac, our White Lotus "guardian" who knew her from before. (she convinces him of her true identity by simply saying "plum wine", to which he blushed! I'm SURE there's a story I'd love to here!) He gets us into the castle and we decide that it's best to go get Tui Varrick, who seems pretty important to this whole subplot!
Unfortunately, while leading us straight to his quarters, Kusac gets ambushed by office ninjas!! (They're wearing regular clothes, but with ninja hoods to hide their identities!) Kusac is taken out in the first moment, but the rest of us manage to take down the dozen ninjas with some difficulty.
We break down the door to Tui's room, but he's a raving mess, with NO idea what's going on! He doesn't know the office-ninjas, not until I take their masks off (keeping them for later use!), then he notices that it's his "film crew"! They must have had a double duty! It's likely Tui isn't the ringleader, but just the excuse for these guys to move freely around. Tui's second in command, Zaaj, is likely the leader of this conspiracy. He's in the next room!!
Kohna opens the wall up to the adjoining room so we can catch Zaaj by surprise, but he's already completely abandoned the place! There IS one thing we discover that's very relevant, though. There's a camera hidden in the wall! It seems like it was aimed into Tui's room and there are cables coming off it. Very strange.
Tui explains it's a new technology that Varrick Corp is developing that transmits images along the cables to a radio dish that can then transmit them through the air. So . . . someone was spying on Tui? That sounds boring!
We follow the cables up a few stairs to a large dish that's aimed out to sea. Huh. Kohna pulls out his spyglass to see who's at sea to receive such a strange video transmission, but he doesn't spot anything. I sigh in disgust and try the contraption, myself.
I spot a largish, metal ship that looks like it might be in the right spot. Based on the designs from the Fire Nation ships, I believe. Before I can explore too much more, I notice something flying from it towards us!! Huh! Wait! What? That CAN'T be good!!
I throw my hoarding of rocks towards this incoming . . . whatever it is, and just in time! It's explodes and sends a huge amount of small, metal scraps towards us! What an insidious device! If I hadn't made it explode early, that stuff would be embedded in our skin! Or worse!
Before they could launch a second one, I suggest a very quick retreat and we rush down the stairs! We get to the base where Paku (the fellow who kidnapped us, earlier) and some guards tries to arrest us. Kusac uses his pull to get us into the presence of the king & queen, so we can start to reveal this terrible plot. Paku and his wife (Hakoda) try to put the blame on us, but we manage to talk our way around it and get her to admit that they had gotten Zaaj to switch the faces of the real princess-to-be (Kya) with another woman.
Wait, if just their faces are switched, then why can't the real Kya (with the wrong face) use her Water Bending abilities?
Kusac theorizes that if we can't capture Zaaj (who is likely on that boat escaping in the harbor with the "rockets" that I barely managed to deflect), that the Avatar (who Mitsuke revealed herself to be) should be able to undo the effects of the face-swapping. Hmmmmm.... Very interesting!

Northern Water Tribe: Part One - Political Machinations
The Varrick Corp guys are at it again. The one who is in the Norther Water Tribe capital has managed to corrupt some of the royal family. The King and Queen had decided that there was no one in the next generation who could take over for them should something happen, so they skipped a generation and chose a young girl. But the part of the family that they skipped now has an imposter, an exact look-alike in her place and somehow managed to change the face of the real heir to someone else. I'm not sure how they did it and I don't know how to undo it. But we have to get to our ship to find an ally to help figure this out.

Plots in ice-land
So, things in the water tribe city aren't as nice as one would like. We knew that many of the royal family were upset that the king & queen had skipped a generation in choosing their heir, but we didn't know it had gone this far!
Singehn, Kohna, Yoshike and I were minding our own business when we were accosted by a young woman who needed our help! Singehn managed to hide her away before her attackers could find her, but then we were all defeated except for Kohna who tried to distract them away from the area.
We awoke kidnapped in an ice warehouse (of course) and our kidnappers turned out to be members of the royal family who had managed to switch bodies of one of them with the actual heir! (Or perhaps just switched their appearances, I'm still not sure!)
We managed to escape and regroup, but I don't know what this means for our group or the whole city!! How did they manage this? Blood Bending?! Brain Bending?!!?!

It all comes together
This will be a long report. There is a lot to tell you and a lot that makes sense now. Some of this I didn't report earlier. Partly out of loyalty and respect for my friends. Partly due to not really understanding the context. Here goes.

It all started when I met an Avatar. Yes, AN Avatar. Zenna had been pronounced as the Avatar. But she showed the ability to bend two elements. It was strange. I didn't know what to make of it. But after traveling with her for a while, I have come to understand that when Korra battled Vaatu at Republic city all those long years ago, Raava, the spirit of the Avatar was fragmented. Now there is two, possibly more Avatars out there.

But the same is true for Vaatu. There are currently pieces of him scattered about. Unfortunately people have found them. We have run into two people who had some of Vaatu's power. Luckily we managed to defeat them. We also may have a way to rid the world of these pieces, but it's risky. They need to be contained in vessels tied to the Power and then brought to Vaatu's prison in the spirit world.

Which brings us to the Cult of the Black Lotus. The found one or more copies of the fabled, vile Book of the Black Lotus. They are using it, along with the avatars of Vaatu (or so I believe) to bring about 10,00 years of darkness and chaos. They are behind the scenes and directing events. They are even directly opposing efforts that we believe will stop Vaatu.

Which in turn brings us to Project Yuae. I know I was told to not pursue it, but, well, it found me. Project Yuae is an attempt by the Earth Nation, and possibly other to reach the Moon. The have what is called a Rocket Ship which they are building and supplying for the journey. We believe it important so that the true Avatar of Light can be there to stop a great catastrophe. This is important.

And now we come to where it all comes together. Vaatu, in order to regain his power, must upset the balance of the worlds. The elements are relatively in balance at this time, but the avatars of Vaatu and the Cult of the Black Lotus work to destroy that. In order to reach their final goal, they must corrupt an Avatar of Raava and use that power to bring about this disruption.

You see, Sozen's Comet will be returning in Three Month's time. The problem with this is that it will be returning with a bang: right into the Moon. The Avatar of Light will need to reach the Avatar state to redirect the comet and prevent this catastrophe. The thing is, based on what we've seen and heard of Zenna, we don't trust him to be the Avatar of light. We are concerned that he is too aggressive and selfish. That he simply craves the power of the Avatar for fame and glory. We are concerned that he is already being corrupted by Vaatu's agents, possibly an actual avatar of Vaatu. Please try to confirm this. Keep an eye out for any agents of Varrick Corp. They seem to be tied into this somehow.

I will continue to keep an eye on the Avatar I am traveling with. If I see any indication that she is being corrupted by Vaatu, I will seek immediate assistance.

Epic!
Out of the library and into the bay
So, it turns out the giant owl IS Wan Shi Ton and he(she?) gives us some of the most interesting news. First, I get the expected concepts of where we might go to help Mituske reconnect to the previous Avatars. Ordinary, boring info, but very important to our larger quest. It should help quite a bit, I'm sure. I also managed to get a lead on my personal quest of learning a second Bending skill, withOUT being in the line of Avatars! He suggests that the spirits of the original creatures/entities that the powers were learned from might still be able to grant those powers! So, if I meet a (the?!) Dragon or Sky-Bison, they might grant me powers! Interesting!! (Especially with what we learn and plan, after this!! Spoilers!)
Second, we discover what's been going on with the whole Two Avatars concept. It seems that the pieces of Vhaatu have been influencing things so that it can reconstruct itself and bring about 10,000 years of Darkness!! I'm unclear on whether it has "created" its own fake-Avatar or split the spirit and intends to corrupt one, but both are pretty bad. I'm now torn on whether I hope my friend Mitsuke is the real and my least favorite brother is the fake! Or the other way around!! Both seem like they have less than ideal outcomes for me! We do discover that we should be able to draw out parts of Vhaatu with the piece we've already captured in the dagger. Once we get some pieces, we can probably (?!) re-imprison them all in the spirit world trap!
We also discover that something BIG is heading our way!! Suzin's Comet (the Fire Benders' Patron planetoid!?) is headed back for another pass near us!! That can't be good. But, wait!! There's more!! It seems that it's going to crash right INTO the moon!!! Even if the physical impact of two large bodies weren't likely to possibly cause some major impact on our world, these two particular heavenly bodies represent two of the four Elements that represent a huge balance of power on our world! The comet brings power to the Fire Nation and the moon brings the same to Water Benders!! And, they oppose each other on the large scale! If they crash into each other, that would bring our whole system Out Of Balance!!?! (Why did I capitalize that?!)
We get out of the library and the spirit realm and meet back up with the other half of our group, only to discover we've now got a guardian. He's a member of the White Lotus and wanted to imprison Mitsuke as a fake Avatar, but Kohna somehow convinced him to come with us and find out if she's the fake or not. Glad I wasn't there for THAT discussion!! Apparently they ran into my brother back at the Air Temple.
We do our best to give the strange info to the group without our new adult guardian hearing while also exploring the city. I believe Mitsuke is able to gather the spirit of one more previous Avatar, though it's not as dramatic as the other two. Strangely so. I hope I'm worrying too much! We decide it's best to find her another teacher to get her Mastery before the 3 months are up and the world ends. . . . Well, 10,000 years of Darkness, I guess. LoL

The Spirit World: The Library of Wan Shi Tong Part 2
We have more confirmation that the threat is actually the shattered remains of Vaatu. We encountered a fragment of him masquerading as a docent of the library. He had trapped Wan Shi Tong. We managed to uncover his plot, mostly because he grew impatient and blew his own cover. We then tracked him down to Wan Shi Tong's office where we were able to defeat him, trapping him in the Dagger of Kyokka. While Wan Shi Tong seems grateful, I'm not certain how helpful he will be. From what I understand, he is pretty protective of the knowledge his library holds.

Entering the Library of Wan Shi-whatsisname
So, we were able to defeat the flat, shadowy fox-like creatures that were preventing us from entering the Library of Wan Shi-Tong. I even managed to capture one so that we could question it! I guess that this ONE time, Rock beats Paper! {Grin} Unfortunately, all it does is growl at us through it's sharp, sharp teeth! Yoshike pulls out some ink and draws a human mouth on its face and it answers a few of our questions! Apparently, it IS one of the fox spirits that is supposed to guard the Library, but it was perverted by the power of the dark spirit, Vaatu! All we have to do is defeat the dark spirit (yeah, the one that Korra, at the height of her power, was almost unable to defeat!) to return the foxes and the library to its former state. I certainly hope this is only one of the tiny fragments of Vaatu that we've recently discovered are resurfacing. {shudder}
We enter through the doors of the Library, huge and imposing. (the doors . . . Not us!) and are greeted by the sight of thousands of books, on shelves and stacked on the floor. . . in the entryway . . . Stairs leading up to more shelves and rooms beyond with even MORE books. By the Avatar, I never imagined it would be THIS filled with information!
We are soon approached by a human looking shape wearing a robe that looks vaguely like an owl. All parts of the entity in the robe are hidden, though. We can't be sure if it's a person, spirit, actual Owl, or some sort of evil spirit bent on our destruction! (I'm guessing the last one!) It says that we must provide it with information it doesn't know in order to peruse the library's content and we do so. I don't give it anything terribly valuable, just in case it tries to use it against us, but it hasn't made any signs of wanting to fight us. . . yet. We were told that the library would be guarded by an Owl spirit, but given no description of what it would actually look like.
Between Yoshike, Singehn, and myself, we manage to get the robed figure upset enough that it reveals itself to actually be (a fragment of, I hope!) the dark spirit, Vaatu! It tries to attack us with words (spoken words!) at first, but we manage to gain the upper hand in that mode, so it attacks us with words! (like, throwing books at us!) We manage to block enough of this physical attack that it retreats upstairs.
We follow as quickly as we can and discover that it has hidden behind books in the largest room I've EVER seen! It isn't that big around, but it goes up and down, out of sight! No stairs, though! This must be where the actual Owl spirit spends most of its time. No-one but a flying creature would want to live here!
Vaatu (fragment?!) throws more books at us and we throw stuff at it. (I brought in several Earth fragments from outside, for just this situation. I don't want to break up parts of the building!) Singehn even throws a magical (?) dagger that he had taken from that Shadow-bender(?) we encountered in Kyohsi Village. Kyokka was his name, I believe. It doesn't pin Vaatu to the wall like I hoped, but it DOES manage to suck its soul into itself when we manage to defeat it. Now, we're carrying around a dagger containing the essence of (a fragment?!?) of the darkest of dark spirits! Great!
As soon as things seem to settle back down, there's a flurry (literally!) of movement below us in the well of books and suddenly a REAL LOOKING Owl spirit flies up to greet us. I'm hoping this is the actual guardian of the library! Wan Shi-Tong, himself? (itself?)

The Spirit World: The Library of Wan Shi Tong Part 1
The Lion Turtle was a pleasant companion on the trip. He was very talkative and helpful. He made a long trip short by his presence. We learned quite a bit about the ancient history of the Avatars, Rava, and Vatu. It appears that the strange people wielding shadow may be acolytes of Vatu, attempting to help him recover and gain power.

Once we hit land again, We traveled for a time. It was difficult to tell how long as the days and nights seemed to vary. We spotted a figure that turned out to be one of the fox guards of the library. He? was hurt and suffering from exposure in the desert. We helped him and continued on our way to the library. When we got within sight of the library, we were attacked by shadow foxen. After a bit of a tussle, we succeeded in dispatching or disabling them.

The Great Library - Journey To
Sooooo.... We're splitting the group. Why does this seem like a bad idea?
Mitsuko, Bingchuan, and Capt Kohna are staying at the Air Temple, mainly so that Mitsuko can study up her second Bending (Yeah! Sorry I'm missing it, even though I have little faith that I could do it.)
Singehn, Yoshike, and I stay in the Spirit Realm and the Lion Turtle takes us to the Great Library of Wan Shi Tong! Great knowledge is ON THE WAY! (I hope!) The travel across the water is fairly smooth going. I spend most of the time chatting with the great Lion Turtle who used to hold a great human city upon his back! He knows many things and we get quite chatty! I even tell him stories of my homeland, so he'll know even MORE! He still recalls no evidence of any Bender being able to affect more than one element. {sigh} While we chat, Yoshike fishes up all the driftwood he can find and builds a small but honored 'shrine' to the Lion Turtle, right there on his back! What a wonderful thought!
We finally get to dry land and debark from the great beast and begin crossing the land. We see many various spirits, but most ignore us. We eventually get to a very solid demarcation where the grasslands turn to desert and we stop for a bit.
In the distance we can see two things. One appears to be a tall tower, very likely the library we seek! The other appears to be some sort of creature, struggling to come toward the grasslands across the desert! We decide to intercept it and discover that it is a fox! Singehn recalls that foxes are the defenders of the Library and this one seems to be retreating from a battle!! We give it some water and it seems to get much better. Singehn wants to travel back to the grasslands area 'til it recovers fully, but I suggest that we continue on. It's likely that the library might be in trouble and any delay could make things worse!
It turns out that the library is MUCH further away than it appeared and it takes us quite a while to finally approach it. When we do, we get attacked by several creatures that appear to be flat, shadow-like fox creatures! We manage to defeat them, with relative ease. I even capture one, but when I try to question it, it doesn't seem to even understand me as the fox we saved in the desert seems to. I wonder what they are? We shall have to enter the Library and see!

The Spirit World: Rescuing the Elders Part 3
Bingchuan and Kohna had this map that they were playing with. It was weird because when they went way high up, the world reflected the map and any changes they made, including mistakes really changed the landscape. In the end it really caused more harm that good. But we were able to talk our way across the landscape, avoiding trouble from the spirits here.

Once we got to Air Temple Island in the Spirit World, however, that was a different story. There was this great wind storm surrounding it and trapping one of the great Lion Turtles. After talking with the great spirit, we went inside him, only to appear on top inside the storm. After talking with the Air Nomads inside, we got a bit suspicious of one of them. It turns out he was an agent of the enemy who was here to steal the power of the Lion Turtle. A struggle started and we managed to beat him.

We discussed what we were going to do next. On the map we saw the Great Library of Wan Shi Tong. We decided to ask the Lion Turtle if he'd take us there and he gratefully accepted. However, Mitsuko decided she wanted to spend some time with the nomads, so will be taking them through the portal while some of us travel on.
