On the world of Theoukos, the scattered nations of Daemonia rest uneasily between the rises of the three great empires since the Fall of Demons. A chaotic land of shifting power, in Daemonia warlords conquer, slaves cry out, and brother fights against brother lest united against a more common foe. Duty and honor to family is everything, then tribe, then clan, and then perhaps a greater and tattered nation. The land itself is untamed, beautiful, with rich and bountiful resources that beckon to a life of comfort and ease, if only one can wrestle control from nature. Life in Daemonia is one of harsh survival, but far easier than the time before the Fall. In hope, many turn to otherworldly sources for comfort and peace of mind. Gods, religion, mysticism and the occult, all blend in a daily tightrope to hold off death and disaster.

Episode D-102: “To Catch a Falling Star”
Previously in Daemonia…

About five springs after the “founding” of the village of Mulogo, the village began having friction with orcish tribes to the north. The greatest of these tribes was the Erem, and a rivalry began between them and a now dead family of the village of Mulogo. This rivalry lasted for several years, with both orcish and villager deaths, until Mulogo stepped in and with the help of an orc chieftain, Oruk the Grim, established peace.

Some ruins still exist of both the Demons and the first empire. In near every village and town of Daemonia there exist some local rumors or legend of one of these ruins, of the dangers, of the difficulty to find, and of the great riches and power that await any that could master such an ancient site.

Many decades ago, there was a slave revolt lead by an elven man named Talar’maen in the Stonefire Lake city of Zia’dipali. This revolt caused the death of hundreds of citizens and thousands of slaves, leading to stricter rules for and harsher treatment of all slaves. Elves took the brunt of the severity though, the event deepening long-standing hatred towards elves.

Mlini has mostly gotten into the good graces of a local priest named Salar to ask of him an important favor, but Salar still lacks “desert rose” and live animals for the festival.

Linnaius Farheld has tracked the female elven assassin, Starfall, to the village of Mulogo. He has gotten a lead on her by a description by two boys of a female elf that seemed out of place among two other slaves following a couple and their daughter.

Episode D-101: “Mulogo”
Previously in Daemonia…

The village of Mulogo sits north of Anathoth on the river Anath. "Founded" thirty springs ago by the wizard Mulogo, the village continues to prosper despite it's founders wishes. Mulogo wished to retire to a secluded portion of Daemonia, but wayward people soon found that living near Mulogo provided natural protection against bandits and raiders. A simple inconvenience at first, it was not long until Mulogo found people coming to him to solve their problems and disputes. The tradition continues today, as Mulogo reluctantly assists local towns people when they are truly in need of help.

Nearly five springs ago, the warlord Gunesh took the city of Anathoth. Before this, the city of Anathoth was a large and peaceful agricultural center, spreading stability through the north. Since then, Gunesh has turned Anathoth and the surrounding wilderness into a bastion of military might. With thousands at his command, Gunesh continues to conquer the north. Gilas has stood against Gunesh for the past two springs, but cannot hold besieged forever. Many refugees have fled north to Mulogo and the surrounding villages. If Gilas falls, fleeing will have been a wasted effort; there is little that will stop Gunesh from ruling the entire north.

The Potami Empire is the oldest of the three great empires, and it seems this longevity has waned its strength. The borders of the empire used to be guarded with ruthless efficiency, a great army running dedicated patrols across every mile, with regular raids into any unconquered land. This has not been so in the memory of any but the eldest in Daemonia now. Little is known about the cause of this decline, and any from Potami are very tight-lipped about the matter. Folks are less cautious near the border then they once were, even making some incursions across the known border, but the specter of the might of the Potami still looms.

Elves, also known as ear-fiends, live a harsh and downtrodden existence in Daemonia. Most serve in slavery or hide themselves from civilization in wilderness shelters. Stories continue to be told of how they, among all the races, most capitulated to the desires of Demons. It is claimed that proof of this lies in the legendary Isles of Logos, where magic and power of old still resonate, presumably because of dark and secret pacts with Demons. Because of this, wood elves are the most common type of elf found in Daemonia and high elves are extremely rare.
